Round and round the motorway,
doing my best to get away.

I'm back to square one.
Round and round the Little Chefs.
Its as if I'd never left.

s'just another bun.

travelling, never arriving,

reality has spun.
Round and round new estates,
find that Tescos replicates.

I'm just about done.

its all become a common place.

nothing new b'neath the sun.

nowhere else for me to go,

Monopoly has won.
Dumb Animals
Pity the poor dumb animals,
locked up in little boxes.
Its cruel to pen them up.
Its not a natural environment,
huddled in anonymous cells,
with few creature comforts.
They only do it because its cheap
- but that's Travelodges for you.
My Way
A big car blocks the street.
Despite having room to park
it obstructs the road, oblivious to others,
the driver arrogantly sounding its horn.
So what type of car is it?
Its a taxi, of course!.
Taxi drivers know the Highway code
but they’ve written their own version,
called the My-way code,
in the any-way-that-suits-them mode,
because they’re basically megalomaniacs
who believe they own the road
Taxi drivers tax my good will.
They seriously test my patience
and undermine my faith in human nature,
as they attack my wallet
with their night-time tax
for driving me home.
Have you ever been kidnapped
late at night, by a racist taxi driver?
Been imprisoned in a car by a nutter
who makes Hitler look tame?
How about the Islamic fundamentalist
who believes the Taliban are dangerous liberals?
Maybe its just my bad luck,
but what the fuck,
they are serious power freaks,
who hold us to ransom in their cars,
and believe that they have the right
to drive us round the bend.
OK, it sounds like I’m prejudiced.
Of course, there’s good taxi drivers around,
but don’t lecture me about warped judgement.
Taxi drivers know far more about that than me.
So, yes, taxi drivers are my prejudice,
but at least I admit it.
